RESO Tech Summit in Austin is headed for a sellout

We just released the preliminary agenda for the next RESO Conference, our Spring Technology Summit "Orchestrating Collaboration and Innovation" scheduled in Austin, Texas at the Omni, Monday, April 24, to Wednesday, April 26. It will be two-and-a-half days jam-packed with not only the latest in standards that every real estate industry technology leader needs to know about, but we will also hear extensively from the brokerage community about their needs and where data standards can help them get over the stumbling blocks they continue to encounter.

With a stellar line-up already in place – and growing – we expect the RESO Spring Technology Summit to be our third consecutive conference to be sold out. We only have made space for 250 registrants and, despite the fact that it's two months away, we have already filled over half of the seats!

Early bird rate ends Valentine's Day

If you haven't yet registered for the Spring Technology Summit and booked a room at the Omni Downtown Austin, our headquarters hotel, I urge you to do so now before the Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) deadline expires to get our early bird discount. RESO conferences are open to both members and non-members and Early Bird Registration by Feb. 14 saves members $125 compared to registering after April 2, assuming we are not sold out. Non-members save even more—$200.

To save your spot at the Summit, you can do everything online. Register for the Tech Summit here (non-members will need to create an account first, members will need to sign in), and reserve your Omni hotel room at our special convention rate (a savings of as much as $100 a night for downtown hotels during these dates in Austin).

Summit highlights

Eric Bryn, Digital Marketing Analyst and Strategic Consultant for BoomTown, killed it at our Fall Conference. Based on the feedback from attendees, we are bringing Eric back as our Keynote to kickoff Tuesday morning. We also know from our last conference that attendees want more insight into brokerage data challenges and pain points, as well as the proven value they have received from RESO standards, so we have a couple of exceptional presentations also on the agenda.

Troy McCasland, CEO of AgentSquared, has used APIs and RESO standards to leapfrog his competition, working with FBS and its Spark API to bring to market instant IDX websites. Troy will talk about how MLSs save time, money, and reduce liability by using APIs to provide IDX access to their members. Troy will explore how this helps brokers and agents get better IDX websites that cost less, are faster to setup and simply work better than IDX websites built using RETS.

Gil Fleitas and Henry Gooden of MyTheo are also slated for a major look into their brokerage products case study for RESO data standards in Austin. They will share their fascinating findings that demonstrate the real-world value of data standards for brokerages.

RESO Charter Member WAV Group and its founding partner Marilyn Wilson will review a new marketing kit to help MLSs promote industry-wide adoption and utilization of their implementation of RESO Standards, including the Data Dictionary and Web API.

And raising the bar even higher, Curt Beardsley, VP Industry Development at Zillow, will demonstrate their new listing management functionality, as well as insight from more industry leaders, including a presentation from Rick Herrera of Move, Inc. and a presentation on converting to RESO Standards from Shaun York at Homes.com.

Fast-paced, info-packed, two locations

We also have adjusted the agenda to give greater access to all of our Workgroup meetings. The RESO Board also will meet on Monday, traveling to the cool digs of our local host, the Austin Board of REALTORS®, where many of the Workgroup meetings will be scheduled (details to be released soon). Workgroup meetings will be held back-to-back, instead of concurrently, so you won't miss a meeting. Homes.com helps us wrap up day one by hosting a reception at ABoR headquarters.

Tuesday will be overflowing with content– the current agenda is here – with more presentations being finalized, so check back to see the updates. In addition to Eric, Troy, Gil and Henry's presentations, our own Art Carter, RESO Chair, will kick off the day highlighting RESO's 2017 strategic initiatives, and Realtor.com will host an evening reception as the perfect antidote for unwinding and socializing after an info-packed day.

The Wednesday agenda is still being finalized, with the PUID Workgroup showing its "Proof of Concept," with more coming. For your travel arrangements, we will end no later than 1:00pm.
